“Journal of a Visit to Madeira and Portugal (1853–1854)” is a nineteenth-century travel diary written by Isabella Hurst de França (1797–1880), a British traveller who documented her journey to Madeira and mainland Portugal during the years 1853–1854. The work survives as a richly detailed manuscript combining written observations with watercolour illustrations created by the author herself.

The modern published edition most commonly referenced today was issued in 1970 by the Junta Geral do Distrito Autónomo do Funchal, based on the original manuscript preserved in Madeira. This edition includes an English text, editorial introduction, and scholarly notes, as well as reproductions of the original watercolours, making it both a literary and visual record of the journey.
