Yesterday and Today – The Holy Land: Lithographs by David Roberts is a richly illustrated art and travel book that combines the nineteenth-century lithographs of the Scottish artist David Roberts with modern color photographs of the same locations. The volume was prepared with text by Fabio Bourbon and contemporary photographs by Antonio Attini. It presents Roberts' famous journey through the Holy Land in 1839, when he traveled across the Sinai Peninsula, Petra, Jerusalem, Palestine, the Lebanese coast, and Baalbek, producing sketches that later became some of the finest examples of nineteenth-century travel art.
